Protests . . . Oppose or Propose?

Hi Douglas Hansen here,

Here’s some ideas you may want to consider.  They came to me while thinking about all of the wars we have had over the last few “thousand” years.  Have they ever “led” to a better world?  Or do they simply protect and try to maintain the status quo?

Well if the status quo is perfect than that is a good idea, if not, well . . . ?  Change is difficult at best for any of us.  Trying to work out the details to a better tomorrow is monumental!  Are protests a tool to work out a better tomorrow?

Here are my thoughts there.  A protest, or at least most of the ones I have seen are simply ways to give a thumbs up, or thumbs down.  Sometimes they get out of hand and become much more, more like thumps up!!!, or thumps down!!!  But do they lead to a better tomorrow?

“If we do the same things we did yesterday, today;
we will be the same place we are today, tomorrow.”

Most protests are “only” a way of showing that we oppose something, or in some cases, we agree with something, but they only involve “one step thinking.”  This is what we think,  end of story.  If we show our leaders we dislike like something, we send this message.  “We dislike your idea.  Now figure it out on your own.  We trust, depend, or assume you will be able to.”

On the other hand, proposals are possible solutions, which leave the door open to a better tomorrow.  Think of it this way,  proposals send this type of message.  “Hey, we hear what you are saying, and would like to share some other thoughts on the subject.  We realize you do not know everything, and hopefully are doing your best to lead us in a good direction; so here are some ideas, that “we” have come up with.

Together, “we” just may be able to build a world far better than any of us can even imagine . . .
